Cave of Treasures

Ever come across a special rock that felt like a treasure?

During this craft-based workshop inspired by the Sheikh’s Little Cave, students will recount their experiences and share their interests along with the things and values that they hold dear, and which they would like to cherish for the future. Following the discussion, they will create their own miniature Cave of Treasures using sketches, collage and modeling equipment while reflecting on the skills and meaning they derive from each of their keepsakes.

Learning Objectives

Through this workshop, students will understand...

That the Sheikh’s interest in studying nature as a child gave him certain skills and made him into the leader he is today.
That our hobbies, interests and the people we are close to can influence our skills, strengths and the people we become in the future.
That Dubai is a great place as a result of its people and their diverse interests.
That art and craft making can be a way to express what’s important or unique to us.

Students will feel...

Motivated to reflect on the things that are important to them and what they gain from them.
Inspired to explore the Pavilion to learn more about the Sheikh and his hobbies and interests.
Encouraged to be creative outside of their visit to the Pavilion.
