General
Expo City Dubai continues Expo 2020’s mission of inspiring the future generation through specialised tours of some of Expo 2020's favourite attractions; The school trip experience are enhanced with the exciting addition of interactive workshops and a science show, created exclusively for schools, and based on each attraction’s themes.
Through the Expo School Programme, Expo City Dubai offers tours and programming for students from 3 to 18 years old. The content of the programming varies depending on the students’ age group.
The Expo School Programme is currently offering 3 new, exciting journeys to school groups:
- The Terra Journey at the Sustainability Pavilion
- The Alif Journey at the Mobility Pavilion
- The Cultural Journey at the Vision Pavilion and Women’s Pavilion
Each journey provides students with unique learning opportunities and exclusive content to enhance their visit. More journeys and new programming will be added gradually.

Each workshop can accommodate a maximum of 30 students.
The accompanying adult/student ratio for Expo City school trips is as follows:
- 1 free adult ticket per 5 students for Nursery - KG 2
- 1 free adult ticket per 10 students for Grade 1 – 7
- 1 free adult ticket per 15 students for Grade 8 – 12
The cost of the trip is dependent on various factors, such as selected experiences, number of accompanying adults, etc…
The duration of the trip may vary based on various factors, including age group, selected journey and added experiences. An average visit will be around 3 hours, but your Expo School Programme point of contact can provide you with a more accurate answer for your particular journey, upon booking.
Each experience has been carefully designed and tailored for specific age groups, therefore it is not recommended to mix grades.
Booking
If you are interested in booking a school trip to Expo City Dubai, please register your interest, and one of our team members will get back to you with available dates and all the information you need to visit us soon.
Accepted method of payment is credit card only. Payments must be made in advance of your scheduled visit.
Once a booking is confirmed and paid for, no changes can be made. If you have any concerns, please contact your Expo School representative directly.
Refund requests must be received in writing a minimum of 15 days in advance. Please contact your Expo School representative for more details.
Yes. We are committed to ensuring that students have the safest and most enjoyable experience possible, therefore all school trips must be booked at least 2 weeks in advance so that visits can be prepared accordingly.
To avoid missing out on your preferred dates, we recommend booking as soon as possible.
As long as there is availability, you are welcome to book more than one class for the same time slot and/or the same journey. Please note that certain experiences can only accommodate a maximum of 30 students at a time. If you wish to book multiple classes for the same time slot and/or journey, your Expo School Programme point of contact can advise on availability.
Arrival
Schools are required to arrange buses to transport students and accompanying adults to and from Expo City Dubai.
The drop-off area designated for your school will depend on your booked journey. Once your school’s booking is confirmed, information regarding drop-off location will be provided.

On arrival, your group will be welcomed by a School Attendant who will ensure that you are all set for the day ahead; they will point you in the right direction to begin your journey.
During the warmer months, shuttle services will transport school groups from the drop-off area to the booked attraction and back to the pick-up area at the end of the journey. During the cooler months, school groups will walk a short distance to the booked attraction.
If you are running ahead of or behind schedule, please call your Expo School Programme point of contact and let them know your approximate time of arrival. We will do our best to ensure that your students' experience is not impacted. To avoid any disappointment, please try to stick to the confirmed time of arrival.
Unfortunately, no. To avoid any delays and ensure the school group’s safety, all students and accompanying adults must arrive at Expo City Dubai together.
On the day of your school trip, please bring a copy of your booking confirmation or have the booking confirmation email ready to present on your device.
During the Visit
Student lockers will not be available to store students’ belongings. For this reason, we recommended that students only carry a lightweight backpack with essential items only, including a packed lunch/snack and a water bottle.
For the time being, students need to bring their own lunch, which they can enjoy at our dedicated lunch spots. Soon, lunch options will be provided to school groups at an additional cost.
No, students must be supervised by the accompanying adults at all times.
Restrooms are available across the site, and designated restroom breaks will be scheduled during your visit.

Yes, teachers are welcome to make purchases onsite. However, they must remain with their school group at all times.
To ensure the safety of students, it is recommended that all students and accompanying adults leave Expo City Dubai together as a group.
In the case that a parent requests to pick up a student from Expo City Dubai, this decision is at the school’s discretion. It is the school’s responsibility to ensure that students arrive safely and are returned to school safely, or are handed over to a parent/guardian.
The only available shuttle services are the ones transporting school groups to and from their booked attraction during warmer months. There are no other shuttle services available at Expo City Dubai for school groups.
In order to avoid walking long distances and to ensure the comfort of students, it is recommended that school groups remain within the area booked for that particular visit.
In order to safely manage school groups entering and exiting Expo City Dubai, bus pick-up will take place at the same location as drop-off.

Students bringing cash to Expo City is at the school’s discretion. Please note that students must be supervised by their accompanying adults at all times, including when they are making purchases at an outlet.
Expo City Dubai does not have a policy regarding students’ use of mobile phones on site. It is at the school’s discretion and mobile phone policy to guide students accordingly.
Students are advised to wear their uniform and comfortable shoes. It is at the school’s discretion whether students wear their daily uniform, or PE uniform. We also recommend that students wear hats and put on sunscreen before coming.
Health & Safety
Yes, school staff members wishing to conduct a risk assessment are welcome to visit us, free of charge. To arrange your visit, please get in touch with your Expo School Programme point of contact
Covid-19 precautionary measures are in place across Expo City Dubai as per the Dubai Health Authority.
First Aid staff will be available to support visitors including school groups. For any case of emergency, please call 800 1 2020. An Ambulance station located nearby Expo City Dubai to assist in emergencies. For minor medical incidents, please speak to the nearest Expo City Staff. A number of first aid staff will be present on site to support.
All students will be provided with identification lanyards; The School Operations team and Expo City Security work closely together to ensure any missing or found students or teachers are reunited with their school group as quickly as possible, in case they get separated.
As per the guidelines of UAE’s Educational Authorities, all parents must sign a consent form prior to their child visiting Expo City Dubai, for each journey they attend. Schools are required to keep a copy of these permission forms on file.
During weekdays, attractions at Expo City Dubai will open at 9:00 am for school groups, and at 10:00 am to the general public. On weekends, the attractions will open at 10am to the general public.
Expo City’s school journeys are designed in such a way that children’s health and safety are always a priority. School groups will have priority upon entering the attractions, granting them safe and easy access and minimising contact with other visitors.
Despite all efforts, Expo City Dubai is a public space and there may be instances where students are in the same physical space as the general public.
Accessibility
Yes, Expo City Dubai is proud to be fully accessible, with a range of facilities available for People of Determination.

Wheelchairs will be provided for school students or teachers, as required, free of charge. Please note that we have a limited quantity of wheelchairs, so kindly inform the Expo School Programme team in advance if you require this service.
Yes, all our experiences have been designed to be fully accessible and inclusive for students with special educational needs. Should you have any concerns, please speak to your Expo School Programme representative directly.

Yes, once the booking is confirmed, you will receive an itinerary and all the information you need to ensure your students make the most out of their visit.
As the workshops and science show are interactive and hands-on, students will be provided with all the information and instructions they need during the activity.
